Summary

Responsibilities

Improve prioritisation, decision making, and execution across the organisation:

  • Improve alignment across leadership & teams
  • Provide day to day support for functional leadership
  • Take strategic thinking and distilling into a digestible form, circulating and seeking feedback from leaders across the organisation
  • Recommend structures for accountability around major projects within the organisation
  • Drive continuous improvement of organisational gaps and inefficiencies
  • Follow up and hold all leaders accountable for the outcomes/ deliverables
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner, sounding board and confidant
  • Inform organisational strategy and decision-making
  • Support CEO special projects as required
  • Manage and triage workflow for the CEO. Prioritise, delegate and complete work on behalf of CEO


Outside of these core responsibilities, there is opportunity to improve the quality of decision making and execution across the key areas of CEO decision making:

  • Provide an experienced perspective on key strategic initiatives and be willing to challenge the perspective of the Founder and ELT
  • Distill long term visions into cross-functional roadmaps and ensure alignment between key functional leaders
  • Ensure people, process and technology investments support the advancement of organisation's mission and vision
  • Manage and facilitate Executive Leadership meetings; Off-Sites and strategy workshops
  • Run quarterly road mapping and OKR setting
  • Act as a sounding board to senior leadership on matters of strategy, team efficiency, and operations
  • Oversee and manage reporting requirements such as the monthly Board Report; helping the CEO prepare his CEO Report for The Board

Communications

  • Add structure and process for better communication within the ELT as well as actress teams with CEO, down and sideways by aligning on structured and predictable ways for him to engage through different communication channels and owning the rhythm
  • Help the CEO prepare for speaking engagements with analysts, press, a future Board, etc. as necessary in partnership with any other functions, by preparing research, talking points, and proactively ensuring he has all content and context required
  • Act as a delegate for the CEO by attending meetings he cannot, representing the CEO’s voice faithfully and accurately

Requirements

  • MBA or Bachelors Degree in Business (or related field) preferred
  • 3+ years in a high-performance environment, whether that is consulting technology or a high growth startup
  • 3+ years experience Chief of Staff, Program Manager, Project Manager, Professional Services, or in equivalent roles
  • Experience with strategy development, program design/management, and change management
  • Experience thinking creatively and prototyping new ideas
  • Experience operating in a matrix and constantly changing environment

  • Ability to execute tactically but also be strategic
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communications skills that can be applied across organisational levels, countries and cultures
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with senior leadership on the team and across groups.
  • Proven track record of developing effective partnerships across groups, ability to influence senior leaders
  • Manages confidentiality without exception
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on execution
  • Capable of strong individual contribution and influence across non-direct reporting teams
  • Experience working in a creative team environment
  • Ability to maintain good judgement in fast-paced, high-stress environments
  • Proactive, forward thinking and able to effectively and quickly synthesize disparate information into clear recommendations, actions and decisions
  • Organisational agility, with the ability to impact and influence leaders within the team
